Lifelong Strategies for Healthy Living
Wellness Wednesdays, a parent support group through the Department of Behavioral Health, is an in-person opportunity for parents to learn about how to take care of themselves, to engage in wellness practices and to get support in fostering resilience for their children in these challenging times.
Wellness Wednesdays at Mt. Pleasant Neighborhood Library occur on the second Wednesday of the month, May - September 2023 from 10am-11am. The schedule of events is as follows:
Wellness Wednesday is based on an evidence-informed parent program called Parent Café that is designed to support strong families. Parent Café provides a safe space for parents to build five Protective Factors—resilience, relationships, knowledge, support and communication—and create strategies from their own experience to strengthen their families. Wellness Wednesdays also happen online each week - learn more at https://dbh.dc.gov/service/parent-support-program
