Youth Drop-In Chess Club

If you know, come teach. If you're new, come learn.

Come play chess with us! We'll be set up on the kids' side the first Monday of every month. 

All you need is a desire to play chess. You don't need any prior experience, we will teach each other! For now, we will meet one evening a month to practice and play casual games. Youth Drop-In Chess Club is designed to provide a relaxed environment in which kids and teens can play and learn to enjoy the game of chess.

Nobody here is an expert, your librarians know basic moves and will have books and materials available for you to take home. 

Play for fun, or play to get really good: it's up to you!

We will provide a few sets to play with but you are also free to bring your own.
