Actor, writer, and musician Malik Work leads this interactive workshop designed to unveil the tools of theater and storytelling.
Work, the co-author of Our Verse in Time to Come, shares his experience creating the raps and rhythms for Our Verse while exploring the connection between the celebrated work of the Bard and the innovative and relevant work of contemporary Hip Hop. Participants can try their hand at the mic and play with the unexpected ways in which Shakespeare and Hip Hop intersect.
This event is part of Searching for Shakespeare: Celebrating 400 Years of Shakespeare’s First Folio, our April 2023 festival in partnership with the Folger Shakespeare Library. Image credit: Lloyd Wolf.
