Solas Nua is pleased to welcome three incredible writers, Sinéad Gleeson, Adrian Duncan, and Jayne A. Quan. The afternoon will include a mix of readings, conversations, and performances.

Attendees who register will have the opportunity to discover new Irish writing and to pick up a free copy of a book of their choosing, from any of the three writers taking part. Politics and Prose Bookstore will also be offering a selection of new Irish writing, available for purchase.
Expanding on our long tradition of providing Washington, DC with free Irish literature on St. Patrick’s Day, this year Solas Nua is delighted to partner with the DC Public Library, Global Irish Studies at Georgetown University, and Politics and Prose Bookstore for an afternoon of events at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, to celebrate creative non-fiction in Irish literature.
1 p.m.: Attendees and writers are invited to mingle and browse free books and books for sale.
1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.: Part One (First Floor): Writer Jayne A. Quan in conversation with Jennifer Natalya Fink, Professor, Department of English at Georgetown University. Jayne will read an excerpt of their book, All this happened, more or less.
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Writer Sinéad Gleeson in conversation with visual artist Aideen Barry, interspersed with readings by Sinéad.
4:00 p.m.: Part Two (Auditorium): A performed reading by writer Adrian Duncan of Little Republics: The Story of Bungalow Bliss, followed by Adrian Duncan in conversation with Solas Nua's Executive Director, Miranda Driscoll.
5:00 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.: Writer Sinéad Gleeson and composer Stephen Shannon will then present The Haunted Haunting Women, a text, sound and visual performance, extracted from Sinéad's books of essays, Constellations: Reflections from Life.
