Attend one virtual event to learn how to create descriptions, called metadata, for issues of the Washington City Paper.
During the month of April create descriptions for 3 newspaper issues on your own time.
No prior knowledge of metadata or the Washington City Paper is required to participate. All skill levels are welcome. This event will be completely virtual and registration is required. After you register, you will be sent the virtual meeting link closer to the event date.
Washington City Paper has been Washington, DC’s principal alternative weekly newspaper since its first issue in February 1981. The paper's editorial mix is focused on local news and arts. The Washington City Paper collection contains digitized editions of the historic independent newspaper from 1981 to 2000 and is presented in partnership with Washington City Paper. Issues of Washington City Paper are also available on microfilm and in print in the Washingtoniana collection.
