Explore the factors that shape people’s relationship with technology and imagine a future that reflects all of the people who will use that technology.
For better and for worse, cell phones have shaped who we are as a global society, and they will for decades to come. As part of the National Museum of Natural History's “After Five, Lectures and Discussion” series, join leaders in journalism, tech, history, art, music, and literature who are influencing mobile technology over two evenings at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
"Digital Futurism: Conversations on Community & Mobile Tech" explores the factors that shape people’s relationship with technology and imagines a future that reflects all of the people who will use that technology.

Both discussions will be moderated by Ashleigh Coren the Women’s History Content and Interpretation Curator for the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian’s American Women’s History Initiative.
The discussion will begin at 6 p.m. on both days. Space is limited at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Registration is encouraged.
This program received support from the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative and is related to an upcoming exhibit at the National Museum of Natural History, “Cellphone: Unseen Connections.” Coming in 2023, “Cellphone: Unseen Connections” is made possible by lead sponsor Qualcomm.
