A Juneteenth Celebration featuring African drumming and dancing by Farafina Kan, then followed by interactive community storytelling with Playback Theatre.
Join us at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library in the Auditorium on Saturday, June 18 at 11am for a Juneteenth Celebration featuring African drumming and dancing by Farafina Kan, then followed by interactive community storytelling with Playback Theatre.
Playback Theatre is an interactive improvisational theatre that retells shared stories through movement, dance and acting in the moment with spontaneity. This interactive community storytelling gives the microphone back to the people and we invite you to come share your stories of - joy, freedom, and emancipation - and watch them be retold back to you in a fun and creative way.
Farafina Kan means The Sound of Africa and they are a professional intergenerational West African Drum and Dance Company.
