¡Ven a nuestro taller gratis para familias y niños de todas las edades, hacer un zine con artista local Veronica Melendez! Un Zine es un folleto autoeditado que consiste en imágenes y/o texto. Son como revistas, pero los Zines usualmente no están hechos para hacer dinero. ¡Los Zines comparten información y conectan a comunidades. No hay reglas sobre que puedes incluir en un Zine-- puedes hacer un Zine sobre cualquier tema! Veronica Melendez creció en una gran comunidad Centroamericana cerca a Washington DC. Ella crea arte que honra y eleva a su comunidad.
Join us for a free workshop for families and children of all ages, to make a zine with local artist Veronica Melendez! A zine is a self published booklet consisting of images and/or text. They are almost like magazines, except zines (usually) aren’t made to make a profit and instead to share information + connect communities. There are no rules to what goes in a zine and you can make one about anything! Artist Veronica Melendez grew up in a big Central American community just outside of Washington DC. She creates art that honors and lifts up her community.
