Get your library card ready and watch with us!
Join us for an online discussion of LGBTQIA+ cinema with the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs. Each month, we will watch a film from the Library’s Kanopy collection and discuss it together on Twitter using the tag #DCQueerFlix. Past films have included "Moonlight," "Strike a Pose," and "Portrait of a Lady on Fire."
In honor of Black History Month, we'll be watching Sundance's 2015 official selection, "Tangerine," directed by Sean Baker. Sin-Dee is back. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend was unfaithful during the days she was jailed, the sex worker and her friend, Alexandra, set out to get to the bottom of this. Their odyssey leads them through subcultures of Los Angeles.
Note: For these events, we will each watch the movie in our own homes using the Library’s film collection, learn more at our Kanopy page.
