Francis Fukuyama will discuss his new memoir with moderator Damir Marusik, talk about contemporary issues, and interact with the audience in a salon style conversation.

FRANCIS FUKUYAMA, PhD is a he world renowned political economist, widely recognized for his influential work on political order, democratic governance, and global affairs. He is the author of numerous acclaimed books, including The End of History and the Last Man and Liberalism and Its Discontents. Dr. Fukuyama, a preeminent public intellectual, will discuss his new memoir In the Realm of the Last Man.

Francis Fukuyama is the Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. He has written widely on issues in development and international politics, and his 1992 book, The End of History and the Last Man, has appeared in over twenty foreign editions. A number of Dr. Fukuyama's titles are available in the holdings of the DC Public Library. 

MODERATOR DAMIR MARUSIC is a thoughtful commentator on geopolitics and international relations and brings deep insight and clarity to complex conversations. He is an assignment editor at The Washington Post, and he is the co-founder of The Wisdom of Crowds podcast. Mr. Marusic is a former executive editor at the American Interest magazine and a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center.
