A Beyond the Book Program: DeAndra Hodge will be reading her new book "Tell Me About Juneteenth" followed by a hands-on activity led by library staff. Free copies of the book while supplies last!
DC Public Library and the Beyond the Book Program are thrilled to welcome DC-based illustrator DeAndra Hodge to read from her new Book "Tell Me About Juneteenth," to be published on May 20th, 2025! DeAndra will read from her book in a special storytime, followed by a Q&A where kids can ask her anything they want -- about the book, about Juneteenth, about what it's like to be an illustrator. Afterwards, library staff will lead participants in a hands-on craft activity inspired by the book.
DeAndra will be signing free copies of "Tell Me About Juneteenth," courtesy of the DCPL Foundation, on a first-come, first-served basis.
