Tim Burton’s homage to real life 1950s schlock director Edward D. Wood Jr. (Johnny Depp) an upbeat and self-deluded dreamer. This film focuses on Wood's friendship with Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau in an Oscar winning performance) and the making of his cult films, including the "so bad it's good" Plan Nine From Outer Space. The film also highlights LGBTQ acceptance: a rarity in the 1950's. Also starring Bill Murray, Patricia Arquette and Sarah Jessica Parker.
