CPHS presents a lecture on DC's streetcar system.
Join the Cleveland Park Historical Society for a talk on streetcars in DC by noted local historian and writer John DeFerrari. John DeFerrari is the author of four books: Lost Washington, D.C. (2011), Historic Restaurants of Washington, D.C.: Capital Eats (2013); Capital Streetcars: Early Mass Transit in Washington, D.C. (2015); and co-author of Sixteenth Street NW: Washington, DC’s Avenue of Ambitions (2022). The talk will focus on the 20th century history of the streetcar system, including the line that went along Connecticut Avenue, and why it all came to an end in 1962.
