Carole Sargent and Arthur Laffin will be on hand to discuss the life and poetry of nun, educator, and peace activist Anne Montgomery, RSCJ
Arthur Laffin, a legendary peace activist and member of the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker in Washington, DC, and Carole Sargent, PhD, a historian at Georgetown University, will discuss the poetry written in prison and war zones by Catholic nun Anne Montgomery RSCJ. A house of peace and social justice in DC is named after her. She was imprisoned multiple times for peacefully advocating for nuclear disarmament by entering nuclear facilities. She was a member of the original Plowshares Eight that was the subject of a film by Martin Sheen.
