A production of P.E.A.C.E. Works, Harriet Tubman: A Woman With a Railroad is a one-woman show written and performed by Founder Adwoa Bandele-Asante who tells the story of the 1839 Amistad Rebellion.
Using storytelling, improvisation, and songs, Adwoa Bandele-Asante will perform her one-woman show Harriet Tubman: A Woman with A Railroad, for all ages. The performance and in-character Q & A will take up to 1 hour. Participants will learn about important 19th Century freedom fighters in the U.S., as well as, important legislation, judicial decisions, and executive proceedings impacting the lives of early African Americans. Through the story of Harriet Tubman’s struggle for freedom from slavery and inclusion as an American citizen, learners will understand how faith, courage, and commitment inspired this great woman warrior, healer, and builder of the twentieth century to change the lives of many.
