Author talk with NPR science correspondent and Mount Pleasant Neighbor Nell Greenfieldboyce
Transient and Strange: Notes on the Science of Life is a collection of personal essays by long-time NPR science correspondent and Mount Pleasant neighbor Nell Greenfieldboyce.
Publisher W. W. Norton says this book features “powerful, emotionally raw, and unforgettable personal essays that probe the places where science touches our lives most intimately.” In these essays, personal experiences are woven together with natural phenomena such as black holes, meteorites, and tornados, creating what the New York Times Book Review called “an idiosyncratic and ambitious memoir.”
Come to the library for a reading from the book by the author. Short Q+A and book-signing to follow. Limited free copies available for attendees courtesy of the Mt. Pleasant Friends of the Library with additional books available for sale through Lost City Bookstore.
