Local architectural historian and author Kimberly P. Williams will present on her 2023 book "Hidden Alleyways of Washington, DC."
Alleyways have been an important part of the District's history. They were hidden from the main streets, creating neighborhoods, businesses, and places of manufacturing. Over time, the alleyways disappeared during city planning projects and redevelopment. Some of them can be visited today. Rediscover the Hidden Alleyways of Washington, DC by Kimberly (Kim) P. Williams, published in 2023.
Ms. Williams is an architectural historian and author who has been researching and writing about historic places and communities in and around D.C. for the past 30 years. She also has written many articles, heritage trail brochures, blog posts, and more about local history.
The author talk will be in the Meeting Room on the lower level of the library. For more information and questions, please call 202-576-7252 or send an e-mail to takomaparklibrary@dc.gov.
