Edward P. Jones, a native of Washington, D.C., depicts District residents who are often ignored, living outside the postcard-perfect Mall and its monuments. Lost in the City won the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award in 1993 and was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction. A George Washington University Professor, Edward P. Jones was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2024.
