This free, community-driven AI Upskilling Cohort will launch in August 2025, with introductory workshops in July and a final open house on July 22 before the application closes on July 24.

​Federal layoffs. Budget freezes. Corporate restructuring. Automation. All of it is putting pressure on the workforce in and around the Capital—and reshaping the future of knowledge work.

​This Open House is your chance to step into a community that’s responding together.

​Whether you’re navigating a career shift, looking to hire or mentor, working inside an institution, or just curious about what’s happening—you’re invited.

​You’ll meet the people building one of the region’s first pilot programs to support this moment: The AI Upskilling Cohort, a three-month initiative from DC Public Library and Levy.

​This isn’t just about one program. It’s about building a support structure from the ground up—one that can scale, evolve, and be shared.

​You’ll leave with:

• ​A clear picture of how the cohort works and how to apply (applications due July 24: Apply Now)
• ​Ways to get involved—whether as a participant, a mentor, an employer, or a partner
• ​Access to free, regular workshops
• ​Connections to others who care about the same questions you do: Where is this all going? Who’s being left out? What can we build together?

​About the Program (August–October)

​​This isn’t a course—it’s a community of learners navigating AI together. Designed for former federal employees and those in adjacent sectors, the program will help you:
