​Join the DC Public Library in partnership with local tech connectors & innovators Levy for a new pilot program designed to help you build the skills and confidence to navigate today’s shifting job market, supported by a cohort of peers.

​This free, community-driven AI Upskilling Cohort will launch in August 2025, with introductory workshops kicking off this July, and this is the first!

Overview:

​60-min Intro Workshop: Led by AI expert Rahul Singh, learn what AI really is (and isn’t), what it’s doing to the workplace, and how to start using it today
​30-min Demo + Q&A: Watch real use cases in action—from resume building to project management—and ask your burning questions
​Open to all with basic computer skills and curiosity about AI, but especially helpful for former federal knowledge workers navigating career transitions.

​About the Program (August–October):

​​Apply here through July 24.

​​Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.​This isn’t a course—it’s a community of learners navigating AI together. Designed for former federal employees and those in adjacent sectors, the program will help you:

• ​Build AI literacy and practical skills
• ​Identify your “irreplaceable” human strengths
• Collaborate with peers and build your professional network
• ​Create a final project to showcase your learning

• ​Self-Organizing Cohort: The group sets its own learning pace, study topics, and collaboration tools—with facilitation from Levy and the DCPL team.
• ​Hands-On Mentorship: Hear from AI professionals across industries who’ll help guide your project ideas and study path.
• ​Real-World Tools, Not Theory: Use AI to personalize your learning, improve your workflows, and prepare for future interviews or transitions.
• Capstone Showcase: Wrap with a final project you can share with potential employers or collaborators.
