Explore collaging with artist Sharon Robinson, a small-scale workshop hosted by the Labs.
Join Capital Connection Exhibit artist, Sharon Robinson, in a small-scale collage workshop. See Sharon's art on the 5th floor as part of the "Capital Connections" Exhibit now on display.
This workshop is designed to expose participants to collage and allow them to create finished pieces of artwork using motifs inspired by the work of famous artists. The two-hour format includes basic instruction in materials and techniques, with ample time for individual assistance in composing pieces. Each participant receives the materials to create their mini-master, as well as a mat and backing board suitable for placing the completed artwork in a ready-made frame.
I am a mixed media artist specializing in collage and assemblage. Raised in New Jersey, I currently reside in Washington DC, after 33 years of residency between the east and west coasts. Although I earned a master’s degree in city planning and worked in the transit and urban design field for over 20 years, I have been a full-time artist, muralist, teacher, and arts program contractor since 2000. I exhibit in Washington DC, as well as other east and west coast cities, along with teaching at The Art League in Alexandria, VA., the Smithsonian Associates and Howard Community College in Maryland.
