Author and educator, Marita Golden will be hosting a workshop that will introduce everyday practices that everyone can use to ensure mental & physical health. Registration required.
Join us for Time For Me: Self-Care for Mind, Body, and Spirit Workshop. In this three-hour workshop led by Marita Golden author most recently of The Strong Black Woman How a Myth Endangers the Physical and Mental Health of Black Women and the forthcoming book, The New Black Woman: Loves Herself, Has Boundaries, and Heals Everyday, Golden will introduce everyday practices that everyone can use to ensure mental and physical health.
This workshop is for you if you are ready to create mental and physical health regimens, set boundaries that allow you to say yes to yourself and no to what saps your joy or energy, and create time for you.
Participants will get an introduction to or learn how to improve their mental health practices (meditation, mindfulness) as well as their physical health care practices (exercise, creative endeavors.) Participants will write about the sources of their inner strength and create an action plan blueprint for mental and physical health.
The workshop will at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial Library in the Conference Center on 4th Floor, in Room 401 D. The workshop is limited to 25 participants and you must register in advance to attend. Registered participants will receive additional information via email. Registration will close two days before the workshop. This workshop is open to anyone over 18. Please join us for this important and informative session.
Marita Golden is an award-winning author and veteran teacher of writing. She has led workshops on mental health and self-care for a variety of constituencies.
