For DC Reads, a special presentation with E.A. Aymar
Crime fiction has long been the struggle of good against evil - whether it's detectives tracking down criminals, determined antiheroes struggling against corrupt institutions, or the everyday protagonist who suddenly realizes that society's structure is working against them. DMV-based bestseller E.A. Aymar takes you through the history of crime fiction in the DMV triangle, highlighting the local writers who used fiction to take a stand against forces that often seemed too powerful to resist, and whose work reached beyond our borders to find a global audience. He will be accompanied by celebrated jazz singer Sara Jones, who will provide musical interludes from each of the eras highlighted during the presentation.
In partnership with the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, DC Reads is the Library's annual citywide celebration of reading. Learn more about our titles and authors here and join us!
