Young people ages 5-19 are invited to submit their essays for a celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Kids are encouraged to write about the inspirations and lessons of Dr. King and how these teachings can be applied to their lives. The essays will not be judged, but selected entries will be displayed at the library. We will group the essays in the following age categories: 5-8, 9-12, and 13-19. Younger children may write a few sentences or a short paragraph.
Please submit all entries no later than Friday, January 20th, 2023 by 6pm. Essays may be dropped off in-person to the Petworth Neighborhood Library or emailed to megan.mcnitt@dc.gov.
