An evening with Author and Historian Kevin Mattson. Kevin will be discussing his new book, "We're Not Here To Entertain: Punk Rock, Ronald Reagan and the Real Culture Wars of 1980s America".
DC Punk Archives and Woodridge Library are proud to present an evening with Author and Historian Kevin Mattson. Kevin will be discussing his new book, "We're Not Here To Entertain: Punk Rock, Ronald Reagan and the Real Culture Wars of 1980s America".
Kevin Mattson was a co-founder of Positive Force DC and currently teaches American History at Ohio University. His latest book relates the grassroots explosion of punk rock scenes all across America to Ronald Reagan's conservative decade, with particular attention paid to the contributions of DC artists and activists. Join us to discuss the evolution of his work, the importance of local archives and much more.
Attend via Zoom or join us in the main meeting room at Woodridge Neighborhood Library for a simulcast.
