Take a tour of the 4th floor exhibits at the MLK Library.
In this 45-minute tour, explore Up From the People, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library’s permanent exhibit on activism and D.C.
The exhibit was installed as a part of the modernization of the Library, to honor Dr. King’s message and his connection to local activism. This permanent exhibit will serve as a portal to the Library’s resources, especially The People’s Archive, and a laboratory for engagement with Washington, D.C.’s past, present, and future.
The Library offers docent-guided tours of the 4th floor exhibit weekly on Tuesdays at 12 p.m. Sign up for a tour. Tours meet at the Information Desk in the Great Hall. The Library will accommodate walk-ins as available.

More about the exhibit:
Up from the People has two main sections:
A Revolution of Values, in the West Gallery, provides a fresh look at the issues that moved local activists and Martin Luther King Jr. to take action for justice.
D.C. Represented, in the East Gallery, highlights local politics and history through displays on D.C. Mayor-For-Life Marion Barry, D.C. home rule, and the cultural impact of go-go and punk music.
