The Braid Society is an empowering circle for adolescent girls (and those who identify as such) ages 10-14, that will meet every third Wednesday, beginning on September 18th
Participants in the Braid Society get to read a book collectively and discuss it together - starting with “The Braid Girls” by Sherri Winston. Participants will also reference American Girl's "Care and the Keeping of You" to anchor discussions on hygiene and a variety of pertinent topics i,e, “respect” “peace” and “friendship”. Crafts, Music, Ice Breakers and Hearty Snack also included. The goal of the Braid Society is to create a Safe Space where participants are free to be themselves, to share their thoughts and feelings, to find the joy in reading and to create community.
The Braid Society meets from 4pm - 5:15pm at Woodridge Neighborhood Library beginning on September 18th. Ages 10-14
